Universal Monsters Dracula Mummy SPP Wallet 1963
In 1963, Standard Plastics Products (SPP), a division of Mattel, released a series of monster wallets based on the popular Universal Monsters. Each wallet came with 2 monster illustrations (one on each side) and included four monster credit cards, magic slate, and red stylus. The most common pairings were Frankenstein / Dracula, Creature / Wolf Man, Frankenstein / Phantom, and the rarest in the series - Mummy / Dracula. There is reported to have been a Phantom/Mummy combination but we've never seen one. Any other combinations out there?
The wallets came with a coin compartment on one side and a magic slate with stylus. Accompanying the wallet was four cards:
- Monster Club: Official Identification Card
- Monster Broom Stick Airlines Card
- Monster Driv-UR-Own Hearse Drivers License Card
- Monster Eaters' Club Card
The cards are incredibly scarce - especially if you can find them unused!
